Toy Storage Clutter Information

'Clean up your room.' This is the cry of every mother on earth. It is one of the things that parents have to teach their children early in life.

A child should be made aware that his toys are his responsibility. He must pick up his toys and put them away so that they do not get broken or lost. Children don’t seem to understand the concept of neatness, though, and often want all of their toys open and surrounding them in the floor 24 hours per day.

You must decide whether you are going to allow your child to play with his toys in all rooms of the house or just in his own room. Then you have to set forth the rules for getting out toys for play. Do you allow the child to take out a new toy for each one that has been put back up? Is he allowed to spread all over the room? It is your house and you are ultimately the person in charge so you get to make the rules.

Some people have a special family room or play room where the children are allowed to play with their toys. Most people are not this lucky and have toys everywhere in their living room. Most parents tend to just learn to live with it because it is easier than fighting with the child on a daily basis but this does not teach the child responsibility. Toy storage is used to clean up the area but it is also a way to teach the child responsibility.

When you want a clutter free home you can choose to purchase items that will make picking up these toys easier for you. Large plastic bins can be filled with toys and stuffed animals and then placed into the closet or a corner of the room. Wal-Mart and Target both offer sturdy plastic chests with drawers for small items like figurines and cars. Keeping loose items in bins with tops is an excellent way to keep things neat. The bins can be stacked on the shelves of bookcases like drawers to be used as needed. Just remember that as big a challenge as you are facing it can be met with organization.

Children love color so colorful bins are a wonderful way to organize their toys and games. Kid’s toy boxes also come in a lot of different colors and designs. You might decide to choose one that will last forever and can be used as a hope chest later in life. Some really nice toy boxes made of wood can be used under the window as a window seat. There are those that have checker boards carved into the top for playing games and there are some that can be used as a table for a little girl’s tea party. Little boys like chests that look like pirates treasure chests or like a safari chest covered in animals.
